The 9th Tracton Music & Arts Festival will take place Thursday, 29th August - Sunday, 1st September. A long weekend packed with concerts, film, snatch comedy, outdoor experiences, food, raffles and fun for all the family!
Some events are ticketed, but many more are free! Free events include the Tracton Artists’ Annual Exhibition all weekend, and on Sunday afternoon our amazing local musicians will provide great music and a laid-back atmosphere with the *Sunday Sessions* - free live music noon till 5pm!
Other free events: Terry Datson will again facilitate community intuitive painting - you are invited to come along and make your mark; the resulting work of art will become a memento of this year's festival. From 1 - 3pm Niall Marron will demonstrate Brush Calligraphy - making free calligraphy name scrolls. You are welcome to watch as he creates a scroll for you, or have a go yourself! Other activities include a drop-in kids print class between 2 & 4pm, Dorothee Roberts' painting demonstration 2 - 3pm, and giant bubble-making at 2.30pm! Lots for all to see and do!
There will be wood-fired pizza, tea, coffee, cakes, and other refreshments available. Also Community Market & Craft stalls! A truly family fun-filled festival weekend!
Celebrate our wonderful community this summer at Tracton Arts and Community Centre... we look forward to seeing you!

Martin Hayes also opened our 2022 Festival - and we're delighted that he's agreed to join us again this year. This short video shows a snapshot of that opening night, and of the musical entertainment over that weekend in 2022, under cover of the stretch-tent - which included Mary Coughlan and The Hothouse Flowers. |

This year we will be treated to the captivating fiddling playing of Martin Hayes again, also other popular Irish musicians: The 4 Of Us, Luka Bloom and Clare Sands. In addition, we will welcome a young family of Ukrainian sisters to our stage. Now living in Killarney and studying music in Cork, they will play a selection from their repertoire of classical, film, Irish and Ukrainian music. You can see a snapshot of the talent on offer in this short video from a concert earlier this summer... |
