OUR 2025 ARTISTS...
DEE PIETERS
|
Our 2025 Guest Artist, Dee, is a memory painter; she paints in oils using palette knives to create texture, tone and depth. The play of light on water is a signature theme of her work - painting from her studio in West Cork, she draws inspiration from hiking the coastline, sailing, and swimming in the ocean.
Dee trained in the UK and Ireland, and has exhibited successfully since 2000. Her work has been included in group shows in London, Northern Ireland, Dublin, Cork City and West Cork. It is also on display in the Office of Public Works Collection, and in private collections in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA. In 2008 Dee's work was selected for the Oireachtas Exhibition, and in 2012 her painting “Calm in the Estuary” was voted by the public as Cork’s favourite painting. Dee has had six solo shows to-date, and her work has been accepted to many juried exhibitions, including the National Open Art in London, Cnoc Bui in West Cork and the Lavit Gallery in Cork. |
VICTOR RICHARDSON
|
Victor has exhibited widely in Ireland, Britain and America for many years. He is represented by galleries in Dublin, London and Belfast.
"What immediately strikes one on viewing Richardson's paintings is their sheer effervescence. They bubble with life. Like bubbles in a glass of champagne, the colours pop and dance across the canvas".
Síle Connaughton-Deeny |
SARA ROBERTS
CERAMIC ARTIST |
|
Sara lives on the south Cork coast where she works from her studio creating hand-built, beautifully glazed porcelain wall pieces. Patterns, textures and colours found along her native shorelines are the main source of inspiration in Sara’s work. Some of her pieces evoke a sense of quiet isolation, others the energy of the sea. Distant horizons, detailed foregrounds and the movement of water draw the viewer deep into the landscape and beyond...

CLAIRE 'CiCi' O'SHEA
|
Originally from Bantry, mixed media artist Claire 'CiCi' O'Shea now lives and paints full time, near the town of Kinsale. Although she has painted throughout her life it wasnt until 2019, after deciding she needed a career change and undertaking a 12-month art mastery programme in 2021 with Milan Art Institute, that she was able to realise and develop her own style and art processes. Whether painting abstracts or empowering female figures, a sense of movement and energy is at the heart of her expressive style.
“My hope is that my energetic and colourful aesthetic might bring with it some light and hope and to empower those who want to live a colourful life.” Claire 'CiCi' O'Shea hosts open studio gallery visits upon request, message her through her social media or website to arrange. |
MONICA FERGUS
|
For thousands of years fish have been seen as symbolising happiness, freedom, the life force, good luck, one-ness and faithfulness, abundance and creativity.
Monica's ceramic fish wall sculptures are inspired by the beautiful and captivating forms and colours of living fish. Some are based on tropical fish; others on the fascinating species to be found right here around the shores of Ireland. In her studio near Kinsale, where fish swim past the bottom of her garden, she shapes every piece by hand, and paints them all with their own specially mixed and layered glazes. Monica uses their dynamic forms and vibrant, life-enhancing colours to create a sense of joie-de-vivre. Email: [email protected] or call: 087 7786349 |
CLODAGH MONKS
|
Clodagh circled back to her love of art in the past few years as a way to reconnect with the beautiful Irish landscapes around her, and to take time for herself. I gather reference photos, always seeking the light.
Coming back to my studio I begin with a complementary under-painting of pastel and alcohol washes and continue to build up in soft pastel, charcoal and further washes. After studying fine art printmaking in Limerick School of Art and Design in the 90’s, Clodagh then 'parked' her practice, creating a family, and a new career in finance and start-up businesses. A few years on she fell in love with soft pastels, adoring the vibrancy and immediacy of the medium, and loving using her hands and fingers to get the textures and hues of the subject onto paper. |
MAREE O'SULLIVAN
|
Maree is a Silk Painting and Mixed Media Artist. She loves the visual effects of freedom of the paint as it takes on a life of it's own once it hits the silk, and the colours merge together. As a Floral Designer, flowers have shaped her identity, and directed her towards painting large blooms. Maree predominately paints on silk, but also loves to dabble in mixed media. She has a passion for upcycling and upstyling pre-loved furniture and other items... including wellies.

AMY HO
|
Amy is a Belgooly based artist. Her passion for Asian art and culture stemmed from childhood and solidified when she met her husband whose family originate from Hong Kong. She predominately works in black and white ink with gold leafing, and places her signature red stamp on her pieces as is tradition in Asian art culture. At the heart of her work is feminine energy. Displayed at the Festival will be her geisha ‘Nakano’, ‘Resilience’ Willow tree and her Orchids on her own handmade paper. The Geisha world is known as the ‘Flower and Willow World’ in Japan and this is reflected in her pieces.

LINDA TAYLOR
|
Linda is a contemporary abstract artist based in Roberts Cove Co.Cork. She works in a mixed medium art. Her work is inspired by the colours of nature and sea water, and she works on recycled/recyclable synthetic paper and inks. Her work is built in layers, with holes in each layer of paper allowing the viewer to look through the piece - creating shadow and space deep into each layer.
Linda is a member of the Irish Craft and Design Council of Ireland. Her work is now sold in various galleries throughout Ireland, and is also part of many private and public collections throughout the world. |
FIONA DEVLIN
|
|
Fiona lives in Belgooly, and is delighted to be part of the Tracton Artists Exhibition this year.
Her oil and cold wax paintings are inspired by love of life and nature; dreamy landscapes and seascapes are developed in layers of colour and mixed media. FIona has contributed to many exhibitions, both locally and in Cork city, where I lived and worked as a psychotherapist and artist before moving to this area four years ago. Many of my original small and large paintings are available in high quality prints. |
LORRAINE HOGAN
|
|
As a multidisciplinary artist, Lorraine draws inspiration from the environments she's experienced throughout her life; born in Ireland, and spending most of her life in London. Her artwork often reflects this fascination with the intersection of environment and human behaviour. Her artistic practice spans a range of mediums, including photography, printmaking, painting, video installations, and sound. Lorraine graduated from Crawford Art College with a Fine Art degree, where she won the Cork Film Award for her video installation in 2014. She studied Film Production in 2023/24. Recent works have focused on exploring her Irish heritage, whether through vibrant paintings of native plants and flowers, or thought-provoking film projects like "Muirdhreach" and "Sean Scoil". The latter was nominated for Best TV Production in Irish at the National Student Awards in 2024. Lorraine's artwork has been exhibited throughout Ireland and the UK. She is excited to continue creating innovative and engaging works that reflect her unique perspective as an artist.

OUR 2025 SUNDAY SESSIONS MUSICIANS...
|
Benny's Head - a genre-blurring band from Cork, fusing the grit of post-punk and indie rock with unexpected flashes of baroque rock grandeur. Known for their theatrical flair, sharp lyrics, and noisy, melodic chaos, they bring a unique mix of elegance and edge to every performance. Benny’s Head isn’t just a band; it’s a beautifully unhinged soundtrack to modern life!
Benny's Head have two albums on Spotify with a retrospective album set for release in September. |
The P45s are a bunch of old friends from Cork City who formed in 2024 to play the blues and rock music they love. Influenced by the likes of The Stunning, The Rolling Stones and ZZ Top.
