I Swear tells the extraordinary true story of John Davidson, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome at age 15, during a time when the condition was largely misunderstood. The film explores Davidson’s journey from isolation to empowerment, illustrating how he embraced his identity and inspired a new, compassionate understanding of Tourette’s Syndrome. This lively, warm-hearted film is a fascinating portrayal of life with Tourette’s. While the film captures the more challenging sides of John’s experiences, it is ultimately a life-affirming story, full of humour and warmth. Rarely has copious swearing been so sweet.

Films are usually screened at 8pm on the second Friday of each month. Film Society Membership is great value, and gains you entry to all films screened at The Inkwell Theatre throughout the year.

Non film society members are always welcome. Pay €8 per screening on the door. If using cash, exact change is appreciated.

There will be drinks and snacks available before all film screenings. We hope that you will support our bar, from which all profits go towards the upkeep of Tracton Arts & Community Centre. Thank you.

Membership is great value, but not mandatory. Unless stated otherwise, tickets will be sold on the door at each screening.
However, occasionally, when a film is known to be particularly popular, and therefore likely to sell out, we will sell tickets in advance online. Any remaining unsold tickets will then be sold on the door. If this is to be the case, it will be stated clearly wherever the film is advertised.

We can only accept new members in September each year.
Film Society Membership for 2026-27 will run for 9 months from September '26 - August '27. These dates form part of the conditions of our contract with Access Cinema, who obtain the licences for the films we screen on the basis of the number of members we have at the beginning of the contract.
