The seventh arts festival was opened on Wednesday 29th June 2022 by renowned musician and patron of the Inkwell Theatre, Martin Hayes. There was a chance to view the 13th exhibition by the Tracton Artists Group upstairs in the gallery in the Corrigan Room, and outside in the Sculpture Garden. Refreshments were sponsored by Stonewell - and later Martin Hayes gave a master class concert on the Irish fiddle. Over the following few days there was drama with Jon Kenny in his one man show, “Back For A Laugh”,  blues by jazz legend Mary Coughlan, and a six course Festival Feast using local produce prepared by chefs from the area. Also lots of art workshops, well-being events and nature experiences in the locality for all ages. Illustrated talks on the art of bee-keeping, appreciation of the beauty of gardens in art history, the Georgian Villa landscape of Cork, and a fantastic journey by talk and pictures in Siberia. Sunday, designated Family Day, offered our monthly Community Market along with delicious artisan food and free live music all afternoon on the outdoor stage. Also demos and workshops, and improvised comedy with Snatch in the Inkwell Theatre. Our headline act was The Hothouse Flowers, with special guests Niwel Tsumbu and Eamonn Cagney - they performed in the outdoor stretch tent followed by a DJ set to bring the festival to a close. It was a treat for all, right on your doorstep!
