Tracton Arts and Community Centre now has free, fast wi-fi available in the car park, outside the front of the building. Just park outside the windows or the door of the old classroom. (You will get a better signal if you raise your laptop above your car engine.)
If you use Zoom you will need to agree to the message warning as it is a shared connection. The password is OldSchool, and Tracton Community Council are encouraging anyone living within the Tracton area to use the wi-fi as needed.
Once the current restrictions are lifted, the centre will be open again with space available during the week where you can work. All we ask is that a donation is made to the centre in respect of time used. Please call or text Angela on 086 071 1910 or email [email protected] to reserve a space.

About the centre and theatre...
Tracton Arts & Community Centre is located in beautiful, rural surroundings near the village of Minane Bridge, County Cork. It offers a broad range of facilities in a magnificently restored and extended old school house including conference room facilities and a theatre. Hosting a range of activities to suit young and old, passive or active, the community centre has become the heart of local community life; from exercise classes to art classes, and meetings for mothers & toddlers to activities for the retired. The attached Inkwell Theatre has hosted a wide variety of shows; from local, amateur drama groups and choirs through to international performers such as the Vanbrugh Quartet, Luka Bloom and Mick Flannery.
The community centre comprises two large rooms suitable for e.g. sports classes, parties and meetings, and the theatre is a 120 seat venue with a modular stage, full sound and lighting equipment, a film projector and screen. With the stage packed away it becomes a flexible, airy space suitable for a variety of activities and events.
Outside the grounds are being thoughtfully landscaped, there is a large car park, a running track of almost 400m and a purpose built bread & pizza oven.

The Knocknamanagh Old School Story...
The building that is now Tracton Arts & Community Centre is a rare surviving example in Ireland of a two-storey Georgian National School, and is on the Register of Protected Structures (ref-Cork County Council RPS 00662). Threatened with demolition by Cork County Council in 2003, it was acquired by Tracton Community Council in 2006, and a specific committee (KOST - Knocknamanagh Old School Trust) was established to oversee the restoration and development.
